The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has established a sector-wide Cybersecurity Operations Centre (BS-SOC) to enhance the protection of financial institutions against rising cyber threats. The centre will oversee threat intelligence sharing, incident response, digital forensics, and cybercrime investigations across the banking sector.
Between Jan and Mar 2025 alone, Kenya recorded more than 2.5 billion cyber threats, marking a sharp 201.7% increase compared to the previous quarter.
